4" Orthopedic Crate Bed

$99.95

The hard metal and plastic at the bottom of dog crates can seriously harm your dog's joints...🤕

So, if your dog spends any time in a crate (and especially if they spend LOTS of time in there) your choice of a crate bed becomes an investment of critical importance to both you and your dog.

Using the same orthopedic foam unique to our best-selling beds, we’ve crafted a crate bed that deeply cushions your dog’s elbows, hips, and pressure points from the hard metal and plastic below.

NOTE: CRATE BED DOES NOT INCLUDE A CRATE!

Sizing Information:

Our orthopedic crate beds are not designed to extend all the way to the wall of the crate. They are sized to fit inside the plastic tray at the bottom of your crate. 1” of space should be between your crate bed and the wall.

Care Instructions: Machine washable. Wash on cold. Tumble dry low with no heat.

Excellent quality

Received the crate bed and the foam is very supportive and doesn't smell like the ones you buy from random places. The cover is very high quality, you can see from the zipper to the sewing that it will last for a long time. Very happy with the purchase.

Happier dog!

As my dog has gotten older, I have seen a shift in how he gets out of his crate - slow stretching, etc. I worried about his joints and being able to be supported when in his crate overnight and when we are gone. I bought 2 crate beds for my 9 year old and 3 year old schnauzers. Super impressed by how they are supported. The bed itself barely sinks when they lay on the beds. I have bought "orthopedic" beds from other places in the past that seemed supportive in the store but lacked in reality with the dogs. I genuinely think after having the beds a month that they're quality of sleep has increased. My younger dog didn't choose to go into his crate in the past during the day, but I've caught him snoozing in there since the new bed. Very happy and appreciative of the product!!

Better Sleep

Dogs get deeper, more restful sleep on a Barker Bed

why better sleep is important

Recover & Heal

When dogs get quality sleep, their bodies have a better opportunity to recover and heal from daily activities. During deep sleep, their muscles and tissues can repair themselves, immune function strengthens, and the production of growth hormones increases—all essential for optimal health and vitality. Good sleep also supports their mental well-being, helping them manage stress and maintain better mood and behavior. Just like in humans, adequate rest allows dogs to recharge physically and mentally, promoting a happier, healthier life.

why better sleep is important

Cognitive Function

In addition to physical recovery, quality sleep is essential for a dog’s cognitive function and learning. Dogs process memories and consolidate new information while they sleep, which is especially important for puppies and dogs in training. When well-rested, dogs are more alert, responsive, and capable of retaining commands and routines, making training sessions more effective. Sleep also helps regulate emotions, reducing stress and anxiety, which means that a well-rested dog is often calmer, more social, and less prone to behavioral issues. Overall, good sleep improves a dog's adaptability and resilience, enhancing their overall quality of life.

Healthy Metabolism

Quality sleep is also essential for maintaining a dog’s healthy metabolism and weight. When dogs are well-rested, their bodies regulate hunger hormones more effectively, helping them maintain a balanced appetite and reducing the likelihood of overeating. Poor sleep, on the other hand, can lead to hormonal imbalances that increase cravings and disrupt normal energy levels, making dogs more prone to weight gain and related health issues. Additionally, restful sleep supports a stable metabolism, ensuring that energy is efficiently used for play, exercise, and overall bodily functions. By promoting good sleep, we help dogs stay in peak physical shape and reduce the risk of obesity and its associated health risks.

Frequently Asked Questions

To choose the right Barker Bed size and style, consider your dog’s weight, sleeping habits, and available space. For large breeds, select the larger sizes to ensure full body support. Measure your dog when stretched out to confirm the bed will fit comfortably. Styles like the Headrest Edition offer a built-in pillow for dogs that enjoy head support, while the Sleek Edition is ideal for those who like a flatter surface. Matching the bed’s dimensions to your space and your dog’s preferences will ensure maximum comfort and durability.
To wash your Barker Bed cover, remove it and machine wash with cold water on a gentle cycle. Use mild detergent and avoid bleach or harsh chemicals. Air dry only. Do not iron or dry clean. Regular washing will help keep your cover fresh and comfortable for your dog.
