Dogs Helping Prisoners

Leader dogs are service dogs who help the blind. They go through intense, special training in order to be equipped to help those who are blind navigate the world. However, there is a high demand for such dogs and not enough people to work with them.

This is where one prison then stepped in to help. It became a mutually beneficial help, where the dogs received the special training and the prisoners learned a different, softer side of themselves.

Watch this wonderful video that details their training and efforts with these dogs and prisoners.
