Today the BVSPCA/Big Barker Holiday Sleepovers were featured on Cape Gazette in an article that described the event!
In the article, Cape Gazette highlights that, "For the second consecutive year, the BVSPCA Holiday Sleepovers are being held in partnership with Big Barker, maker of the only dog bed designed specifically to support a big dog’s body. Big Barker is sending each dog home with a Big Barker bed. In a study performed by the University of Pennsylvania, the Big Barker bed was clinically proven to alleviate the pain and stiffness big dogs can suffer from due to arthritis and joint deterioration. Big Barker beds improve mobility, energy and quality of life."
We are grateful that these incredible dogs are being highlighted so that they can find their forever homes! Thanks for sharing, Cape Gazette!

“Fina is a such a good dog. I have 6-year-old twin boys, and they play together so well. She is so great with them. She is so good with kids! She LOVES to walk on her leash. She would walk all day long if she could", says Fina's foster mom!
Fina is doing great with bathroom training, and she even goes to the door when she needs to go to the potty. She also goes in the crate when her foster family leaves the house. She sleeps on her bed all night and doesn’t move or bark! Fina's adoption fee is sponsored through January 2nd as part of the Gabriel and Emma's Gift promotion. To meet Fina, contact rduplin@bvspca.org.

Georgia arrived to her foster families home and they decided to give her a house tour. She was curious about steps but did not go up them at this time. Her foster family decided to take her to Tractor Supply for a much needed bath. She did wonderful! She did everything they asked and she even seemed to enjoy 4 human hands on her scrubbing her!
Next, the family opened Georgia’s Big Barker bed and she laid down almost immediately and fell asleep.
The family sent a recap of the rest of the night and stated, "Later in the evening, we had a visit from our daughter Brittany with her 8 month old pit bull puppy. We took the visit slow and steady! Lola, the pup, wanted to play and so did Georgia! Later they both fell asleep together after Georgia thoroughly cleaned Lola’s ears! The visit went well and Georgia enjoyed sitting on Brittany’s lap. Georgia then got to meet our son Andrew when he returned from work. They got along well, Georgia seems to love all humans".

Everybody meet Donut! Donut is one of the 12 dogs participating in the Big Barker Holiday Sleepovers with the Brandywine Valley SPCA. (@brandywinespca) Donut has many wounds and scars that might define his past but will not define his future!
Donut went home with his foster family yesterday and we are so happy to report he is loving it! Thank you so much BVSPCA for organizing this beautiful boy getting a loving and kind family to spend the holidays with.
If you are interested in Donut, email the West Chester Lifesaving Coordinator, Renee to schedule a meet up: rduplin@bvspca.org.

And they’re off! These babies are all in their foster homes enjoying their Holiday Sleepovers with their new Big Barker beds.
There is nothing quite like being
🎄Home for the Holidays 🎄
We’re so glad that the Brandywine SPCA is able and willing to put in the extra work for these beautiful fosters to get them out of the rescue for a well deserved Holiday break.
Did you know that research suggests it’s very beneficial for rescue pups to be able to take a break from the shelter in a loving home with a foster family? 🥰 These dogs all are looking for their forever homes and we can’t wait to find out which families are the lucky ones to adopt them. ❤️

Silver update! 🥰❤️
Several days ago Silver went home on her Holiday Sleepover with the @brandywinespca! Her foster family is having an amazing time with her!
Silver is full of personality and life! She loves other dogs and people. Kids are some of Silver’s favorites! With such a big personality any room can go from sad to happy in just one moment. Some of her favorite things are going for walks, rolling in the grass and going for adventures, which makes her a fairly active girl! She also LOVES water and will play in a small pool endlessly!
We are so grateful for the BVSPCA and for Silver’s foster family for taking such good care of this baby!
Contact kortiz@bvspca.org if interested in adopting or meeting Silver. ❤️

Meet Trin 🥰❤️✨
Trin was recently pulled from ACCT Philly as their longest resident and staff/volunteer favorite. In her short time with The BVSPCA, she's already stolen the hearts of many of their staff and volunteers as well. Trin has been enjoying her time in doggy playgroups at the shelter, but this gorgeous girl deserves a break from shelter life where she can really shine! ✨
We are honored to send Trin home on her Holiday Sleepover where she will get the opportunity to spend time with a family in a real home. 🥰
If you’re in the Pennsylvania area and interested in adding a forever family member, be sure to contact the BVSPCA. You never know if one of these adorable babies participating in the Holiday Sleepovers might be your new family member. ❤️

Sim has made it to the BVSPCA all the way from Louisiana!
Sim is one of the twelve dogs participating in the Big Barker Holiday Sleepovers with the BVSPCA.
Sim was located in Louisiana at a high kill shelter and couldn’t find his forever family. We said NO WAY, Sim! Jail break!
We flew Sim to the BVSPCA where he got his very own Big Barker bed. Sim is going home with a family for the holidays to enjoy the luxuries of 🎈HOME🎈 where we will document his journey and hopefully find his forever family!
If you are in the Pennsylvania area and are interested in adopting or meeting Sim make sure to reach out to Valerie DiBiaggio at vdibiaggio@bvspca.org.

Meet the Dogs!
Silver
Silver has the most contagious smile! Her awesome personality lights up a room and you can't help but be happy around her. Silver is a fun loving girl who enjoys going on walks, rolling in the grass, and running around in the play yard with a squeaky toy. And boy, does this girl love taking a dip in the baby pool! Silver is smart and treat motivated, and friendly as can be. All this good girl missing is a home of her own. She can’t wait to spend her holiday in a home this year!
Fina
Trin
Trin was recently pulled from ACCT Philly as their longest resident and staff/volunteer favorite. In her short time with BVSPCA, she's already stolen the hearts of many of their staff and volunteers as well. Trin has been enjoying her time in doggy playgroups here at the shelter, but this gorgeous girl deserves a break from shelter life where she can really shine.
Sim
Sim is a beautiful, mild-mannered hound from Louisiana who adores human attention and affection. He’s a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he is a total mush. He’s friendly and sweet, and is excited to find out what it’s like to be in a home for the holidays!
Scoot
Scoot traveled to Pennsylvania from Louisiana to find himself a forever home. He is a super sweet, goofy dog with adorable young pup energy. He’s friendly and social and loves greeting everyone!
Steve
Brie
Checkers
Dartrix
Handsome boy Dartrix has been with the BVSPCA for over a year since they pulled him from ACCT in Philadelphia, and he is more than ready for a home for the holidays. Dartrix really enjoys the simple things in life – walks, treats, back rubs, sitting out in the sun, and, of course, tennis balls. He is a volunteer favorite and they’d love nothing more than to see their big boy get adopted!
Georgia
Georgia may look like a biker babe at first glance, but she's really a sweet marshmallow! When she's not bringing you toys, she's nudging your arm to sit next to you…or even better, on your lap.
Kiara
Roxy
Showgun
Showgun was abandoned at a local veterinary hospital with serious injuries. BVSPCA took over care of this sweet, shy boy and are so happy to see him improve daily. He's even becoming a big lapdog!
