This is the heartwarming story of a rescued dog, Gracie, and the veterinarian, Dr. Andy Mathis, that nurtured her back to health. Found in the street, Gracie was so scared of people and the world in general, she would not even eat food at first. So, Dr. Mathis ate a bowl of food with her in her cage and hand fed her when she finally became comfortable enough to eat. Over the next days, Gracie began to come out of her shell a bit. Eventually, she became very playful, healthy, and well adjusted. Instead of adopting her out to someone, Dr. Mathis kept her as an “office dog”, and every year, they celebrate the anniversary of her rescue by having a similar meal to their first one together.
