Aurora’s story is nothing short of incredible. In 2023, she was rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea, where she had been left chained and malnourished. When rescuers from Jindo Love Rescue stepped in, they quickly learned she was also pregnant.
In safety for the first time, Aurora gave birth to four puppies, Daffy, Bugs, Babs, and Taz. Each of her pups eventually found a home, but Aurora was left waiting. For more than two years, she stayed at the rescue, quietly hoping her turn would come.

That moment finally arrived this summer. On August 28, Aurora traveled over 5,000 miles to San Francisco, where she met her new mom, Natasha, and her furry sibling, Solo. After everything she endured, she was finally home.
Aurora’s journey was made possible by Jindo Love Rescue and In Defense of Animals, organizations that have saved more than 1,200 dogs from the meat trade since 2017. With South Korea now moving toward a complete ban by 2027, her story represents hope for many more dogs still waiting for a chance at life.
Today, Aurora isn’t a chained dog on a farm, she’s a beloved family member starting her happiest chapter yet. Her journey shows just how much love and patience can change a life.
