Weddings are often a celebration of love and new beginnings, but sometimes, they also become a beautiful way to honor a love that’s been there all along. One couple recently made sure their big day included a very special guest of honor: their senior dog, who had been by their side for years.
Their aging pup had seen them through milestones, heartbreaks, and every ordinary day in between. As his health began to fade, the couple knew their time together was limited, so when it came time to plan their wedding, there was no question he would be part of it.
Despite his declining health, the senior dog took his place proudly at the ceremony. Draped in a little tuxedo, he made his way down the aisle to join his humans one last time. It wasn’t easy. His steps were slower now, his body tired, but with gentle support and an undeniable will to be present, he completed the walk.

He laid beside the couple during their vows, resting his head quietly as they promised forever to each other. In that moment, it felt like he was passing the torch, ushering them into their next chapter, even as his own was coming to a close.
After the ceremony, he got to enjoy the kind of day every dog dreams of with treats, cuddles, a soft spot in the sun, and all the love he could soak in. It was, in every sense, a final good day.
On June 16th, several months after the wedding, Gulliver took his final rest, peaceful, cherished, and held in love until the very end.
