Help Is On the Way

Many of you have heard about the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal last week. A massive 7.8 earthquake hit Nepal and there are reportedly over 4,600 people missing and/or presumed dead. This is devastating.

In the midst of all this devastation, there is a bit of light on the horizon. The US is sending members of its Urban Search and Rescue team to Nepal to help with locating and helping survivors. Along with these members is going 12 search and rescue dogs.

These dogs are heroes…long before they ever stepped paw on Nepal. These dogs are specially trained to search out survivors by using their powerful sense of smell. They will join the 100+ members of the search and rescue teams as they help in the midst of such struggle.

These dogs certainly will lend a helping paw to the efforts, and in fact will be able to do so in a way that will help search and rescue teams in a manner far more powerful than what the rescue teams could do on their own.
