What Do Vets Say About CBD and Dogs?
The Frontiers of Veterinarian Science conducted a study with dogs and CBD to assess whether it worked for pain reduction. The results of the canine brief pain inventory and Hudson activity scores showed a decrease in pain and increase in activity levels in the dogs that were given CBD oil. Veterinarians also were able to report that assessments given to these said dogs showed decreased pain during CBD usage. This particular study suggested that providing a painful/arthritic dog with CBD can help to relieve the pain and make them feel more comfortable with activity and mobility.
An additional study, conducted in the journal Pain, began to gather dogs with diagnosis's of osteoarthritis (OA) in the United States, in which they stated that population has "tripled due to increasing rates of obesity". The results? Shocking but amazing! In the conclusion of the research, it was found that in just one month CBD significantly decreased pain and increased mobility in canines diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Halbert, the veterinarian behind the project described that, “almost every dog saw significant improvement in their conditions, in regards to reduced pain and increased ability to move around. And the dogs seemed happier and were able to do more.”
